Simulated Distillation Software
Simulated Distillation is a gas chromatographic method designed, through hardware and software technology, to simulate the actual physical distillation of petroleum raw materials and products. Utilizing the Simulated Distillation Software, a chromatogram of the hydrocarbon sample is sectioned into uniform area slices. Boiling temperatures are assigned to a time axis using a calibration standard. From this information, percent-off versus boiling point can be calculated and reported, which correlates directly with the actual 15 plate physical distillation (ASTM D2892).
The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has five approved Simulated Distillation methods (D2887, D3710, D5307, D7169 and D6352) with defined appropriate hydrocarbon component ranges to be analyzed under each method. Arnel?s Simulated Distillation Software (Model 3022) incorporates all of these approved methods.
Model 3022 Simulated Distillation Software can be combined with predefined hardware, column(s), calibration material(s), plus method development on a newly purchased gas chromatograph to create a turnkey Simulation Distillation Analyzer (Model 3023).
Model 3022 Simulated Distillation Software may also be used to determine a sulfur component distillation, with the use of a Sulfur Chemiluminescence Detector in addition to the Flame Ionization Detector.
Merge and Reporting Software
Designed as a customizable program that runs automatically at the end of an analysis, the Merge and Reporting Software (Model 3062) is a Microsoft Excel workbook that includes a powerful macro. Key features include:
- Combine two PerkinElmer Turbochrom or TotalChrom reports into a single report
- Full computational power of Excel
- Full reporting customization power of Excel
- Translation of report into local language
- Automatic output to paper or and computer file path
- Perform calorific value/specific gravity calculations to enhance natural gas analyses and evaluations
- Perform special calculations
